The short answer
For a typical road car, allow around 1 to 2 hours from arrival to driving away. That covers the diagnostic check, reading and backing up your original file, writing the new calibration, and a quick verification afterwards.
We never rush the parts that matter — the health check and the backup come first every time, because they're what keep the job safe.
What takes the time
Most modern cars can be flashed through the OBD port, which is the quick route. Some ECUs are locked or need to be read on the bench, which means removing the unit — that adds time. Your vehicle's make and ECU type decide which applies.
If the initial diagnostic turns up a fault, we'd resolve or flag that before tuning rather than mapping over a problem, which can extend the appointment.
Mobile vs workshop
A mobile appointment at your home or work takes about the same hands-on time; you just don't have to travel. We bring everything needed to read, back up and write the file on site.
Can I wait while it's done?
Yes, many customers do. For a straightforward OBD flash you can usually wait with the car.
Will it be off the road for days?
No. The vast majority of remaps are completed in a single visit.
